These valves are pilot valves. They constitute “dual 2-port valves” which open and close the two built-in main valves (2-port valve x 2, each of which is called a supply valve and a release valve, respectively).
The operation of a “self-holding/release valve linked supply valve” is as follows.
[Initial status](When shipped from factory) Supply valve: Closed, Release valve: Closed
[Operation 1] Pilot valve for supply ON: The supply valve is opened by the pilot air. Even if the pilot valve for supply is OFF, the supply valve is held opened (This is called self-holding).
[Operation 2] Pilot valve for release ON: The release valve is opened by the pilot air, and the release valve operates in the left direction of the figure. As a result, the supply valve is pushed back to the closed position (This is called release valve linked).
∗The energization of the pilot valve for supply can be realized by either instantaneous energization or continuous energization. In the case where it is used under continuous energization, when turning the pilot valve for release ON, be sure to set the pilot valve for supply to OFF at the same time. Failure to do this will cause a malfunction such as the inability of the release valve to function normally, or the inability of the supply valve to go OFF.
