When the actuator is mounted vertically, will the table (rod) drop by its own weight?
With the servo ON, a holding torque is generated, so it will not drop if the work piece weight is less than the allowable weight for vertical transfer. With the servo OFF (when stopped), no motor torque is generated and it will drop, so it is necessary to select an actuator with lock.
