3D/2D CAD Library

SMC’s 3D/2D CAD Library contains the 3D/2D CAD data for SMC’s major products and includes the new product and semi-standard data. It is distributed online through the website or DVD-ROM, free of charge.
Additionally, SMC’s 3D/2D CAD Library uses the CADENAS system that can output the CAD data applicable to full-part numbers in various data formats.

|Overview of SMC’s 3D/2D CAD Library

The CAD data of SMC’s 3D/2D CAD Library provides new functions to support a wide variety of customers’ applications.

・ Cylinder intermediate stroke drawing function
・ Function to switch between the major diameter and minor diameter of the port thread
・ Function to output the data in major CAD software data formats without creating any intermediate file

The CAD data is output in major 3D CAD data formats while the 2D data is output in the DXF format. SMC’s 3D/2D CAD Library is provided through CADENAS’s PART solution, PART community.

|How to use the Web version SMC’s 3D/2D CAD Library

When using the WEB version of the 3D/2D CAD library, select the method to be used according to the particular application.

1. Data access via SMC new CAD SYSTEM (CADENAS)

The development of the SMC new CAD SYSTEM (CADENAS) has resulted in greatly improved response to a part No. selection compared to that of a conventional system.

Open the WEB Catalog (Start screen). When the product series is displayed as shown in the figure, you can see the [3D CAD] button. (Series posted on the CADENAS only)

3.Data access via the Direct Link Address List

When you click an address in the Direct Link Address List, the product series screen in PARTcommunity (CADENAS) will appear.
You can make your own database by using Excel, for example, to group only the addresses for the products that you use.

You can start the program by running “start.bat” in the unzipped SMC_2D_3D_CAD folder on your PC.

Since the data capacity of the DVD version is large, it may not be downloaded correctly depending on your internet conditions. If this occurs, ask your nearest SMC sales office or sales representative for the DVD version.
