It is a requirement for a manufacturer to self-declare conformity (issuance of a declaration of conformity by the manufacturer themselves) when the CE marking is applied to machines and components. There are numbers of ways to declare compliance: For all applicable SMC products, we will always verify the safety of the product based on the criteria of the applicable standards and testing the product based on those standards. Following verification of the product's safety, we are able declare conformance ourselves. Also, when necessary, we place a request to a notification body to verify the safety of the product. In this case, the notification body carries out testing according to the applicable standards and they issue the certificate of compliance for our company to use as a declaration of compliance.
